Metrobank winners join Australian fellowship
Eight winners of the Metrobank Foundation Search for Outstanding Teachers participated in an educational leadership fellowship program in Australia.
The program, called by the acronym SLATES (Strengthening Leadership and Teaching Excellence Skills) Program in Australia. On its third year, S-L-A-T-E-S is implemented in collaboration with the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) through the Philippines-Australia Human Resource Organizational Development Facility (PAHRODF), and the Metrobank Foundation. The outstanding teachers, seven of whom won in 2014, had the opportunity to visit Australia through an all-expense paid travel sponsored by the Australian government last May 11 to May 23. The SOT winners-cum-SLATES fellows include: Anna Bella Abellera of Naga Central School I (Naga City); Sharon Rose Puyo of the Cabadbaran South Central Elementary School SPED Center (Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte); Dr. Enerio Ebisa of Doña Juana Actub Luch Memorial Central School (Iligan City); Dr. Allan Moore Cabrillas of San Jose West Central School (San Jose City, Nueva Ecija). Dr. Juanito Merle of Talipan National High School (Pagbilao, Quezon); Dr. Matrose Galarion of Angeles City National High School (Angeles City); Dr. Noel Ibis of Vinzons Pilot High School (Vinzons, Camarines Norte) and Bonifacio D. Caulitan Jr. of San Jose High School (Quezon City)
