World Teachers Day Celebration - Essay Writing Competition Mechanics


The 2015 NOTED Essay Writing Contest aims to provide a venue for high school and college students to express their views about teachers as heroes through a written composition to instill awareness of and drum up support for the National Teachers’ Month and World Teachers’ Day Celebration.

Mechanics

1. The Essay Competition is open to high school and college students.

2. The essay should revolve around the theme, “My Teacher, My Hero”.

4. The essay shall be in English and limited to 500 words. It must reflect the contestant's own writing and original thinking on how much he honors and values his teachers.

5. All essays must be in:

  • Microsoft Word

  • Font : Arial

  • Font Size : 11

  • Spacing : Single space

  • Paper Size : Letter(8.5” X 11”) with margin on all sides

  • Ink : Black

6. All entries with an accomplished entry form must be emailed to noted2015ntm@gmail.com on or before August 20, 2015.

7.All essays will automatically become the official property of the MBFI - Network of Outstanding Teachers and Educators (NOTED).

8. The winners for each category shall be judged based on the following criteria:

  • Relevance of Content 50%

  • Grammar and Style 20%

  • Organization of Idea 30%

Total 100%

9. The first, second and third place winners will be awarded based on the average scores computed by the judges. They shall be awarded on September 5, 2015 and will receive a certificate and a cash prize.

  • First Place : Php 5,000

  • Second Place : Php 3,000

  • Third Place : Php 1,500

10. The Board of Judges’ decision is considered final and irrevocable.

The Board of Judges is composed of three (3) members who will convene as a group to judge the entries and determine the winners
