World Teachers Day Celebration – Hymn Songwriting Contest

Mechanics and Guidelines
In celebration of the World Teachers Day 2015, song w5riting contest is open to all high school and college students in the Philippines.
Entries may be individually or collaboratively authored. However, only one prize will be awarded in case of collaborative composition.
Each participant may submit as many entries as he/she can.
Entries:
Lyrics may be in English of Filipino
The song lyrics and music content should be consistent with the theme of World Teachers Day Celebration with the statement – ‘MY TEACHER, MY HERO.’
The song tune and lyrics must be affirmed as an original composition of the composers.
Any entry that will be proven to be not original shall be disqualified, and no substitute entry may be allowed.
Songs must not be longer that three (3) minutes; and maybe in any musical genres as long as the message shall adhere to the given theme.
Each entry must include the following:
Application forms may be obtained from the Office of NOTED or maybe downloaded here.
Contestants must submit the application form together with one recent “2x2” collared photo to NOTED Office.
Entries must be submitted in CD format, together with hard copies of the lyrics and name of the lyricist. Contestants may also send their entries via email provided that they indicate their name, address and contact numbers.
Submission of entries:
All of the above requirements must be placed in a brown envelope and mailed or hand carried to
NOTED Office, UST College of Education NOTED website
All entries must be submitted on or before August 15, 2015.
All entries shall be non-returnable.
Criteria

Schedeule of Contest
June 15, 2015 - Launch of Contest.
August 15, 2015 - Last day of submission of Entries.
The winning entry shall be used in composing the music which will be one of those to be sung during the World Teachers Day Celebration.
Prizes
Ten (10) finalists will be chosen.
Three winners (first, second and third places) shall receive Php 20,000, Php 10,000 and Php 5,000 respectively.
The rest of the finalists will receive a consolation cash prize of Php 1,000 each.
All entries shall be considered as property of and maybe used by NOTED for Education purposes.
The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.
